DEADLINE ALERT: Defence Science Institute alert: US AI and COVID-19 opportunities

The Melbourne-based Defence Science Institute (DSI) has posted alerts for R&D and acceleration funding from two US government agencies.

DARPA, the Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency, is issuing a new AI Exploration (AIE) opportunity titled Techniques for Machine Visual Disruption (TMVD), calling for submissions of innovative basic or applied research concepts for the disruption of machine vision systems without detailed knowledge of their internal architecture. The US Department of Defense has also announced a funding opportunity in relation to the current COVID-19 crisis. This supports the translation of promising pre-clinical applications in the field of emerging Viral Diseases and Respiratory health. Products in development should be responsive to the healthcare needs of serving military personnel, veterans and/or beneficiaries.
