DEADLINE ALERT: DIU seeks automated FOD Mitigation

The US Department of Defense’s (DoD) Defense Innovation Unit is seeking a sensor or suite of sensors and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) algorithms that can detect, locate and classify potentially hazardous objects or conditions on surfaces based on sensor-generated data. Detecting degradation and changes to surfaces in areas such as airfields, logistics facilities and combat outposts as well as the presence and source of foreign objects, can provide critical information to mitigate risks and otherwise inform operational decisions.
