Defence Innovation Hub seeks AI proposals from industry

The Defence Innovation Hub, in collaboration with the Defence Artificial Intelligence Centre (DAIC) within Joint Capabilities Group, is now seeking Innovation Proposals from industry to a Special Notice challenge relating to ‘Artificial Intelligence Applications in Defence’.

Defence seeks innovative Proposals that advance or enhance Defence Artificial Intelligence in two key areas: Intelligent Mission Data production and Virtual Reality Graphics Applications.

Minister for Defence Industry Melissa Price said the Special Notice is funded to the tune f $10 million as part of a broader $32 million boost to the Hub. The intent of the Special Notice is to develop technologies that will improve battlefield Situational Awareness as well as Virtual reality to enhance defence’s modelling and simulation capabilities.

Proposals must be submitted through the Defence Innovation Hub portal available at: https://www.innovationhub.defence.gov.au/call-for-submissions/

Submissions Open: Monday 12:00pm (Canberra local time, AEST) 23 November 2020

Submissions Close: Thursday 12:00pm (Canberra Local time, AEST) 11 February 2021.

Proposals are to be assessed against set criteria as outlined in the Challenge Statement and Request for Proposal Terms.
